On Wednesday, March 1st, ANR will celebrate our 47th birthday and our Day of Breathing. Cynthia Hallett and Traci Kennedy from ANR, and Jamie Kent of Musicians for a Smokefree Tennessee will be at Jane's Hideaway in East Nashville and will go live on social media at 5:30pm CST (6:30pm ET/ 4:30pm MT / 3:30pm PT) to share the excitement as bars in Nashville empty their ashtrays for the last time and welcome the new smokefree ordinance that will keep fans, bartenders, and musicians breathing easy. If you're in or near East Nashville, please come on down and see Jack Settle share some songs and enjoy the event. Please let us know in advance if you plan to come. We want to be sure you are "on the list" and that Cynthia can personally thank you for your support. Be sure to wear blue!
WHY DO WE WEAR BLUE ON MARCH 1st?
Not everyone knows that secondhand smoke is still harming people, like musicians in Oklahoma, or the casino workers in Atlantic City, Las Vegas, and all over the country. As we mark 47 years of this struggle, we acknowledge that the fight for smokefree air is multi-generational - and until EVERYONE in our country works and lives in smokefree air we are not done. Help us fight on by becoming a member, chipping in a small donation, wearing blue and sharing the news to all you know so we may gain new supporters.
We love to hear from our supporters! You can help us boost the signal on our Day of Breathing next Wednesday March 1st to let us know why you're wearing blue.Take a selfie video or photo with you, your loved ones and furry ones, and send it in! Contact Heidi to share your photos, quotes or video.
