The Public Health Law Center presented ANR Foundation with their “Game Changer” award at a reception they hosted at the National Conference on Tobacco or Health (NCTOH). This award recognizes ANR Foundation for the groundbreaking work to support the Niłch’ Éí Bee Ííná – Air is Life Act of 2021 getting passed into law. THUMBS UP SANTA CRUZ COUNTY |
|
Congratulations to public health partners in Santa Cruz County, CA, for the achievement of all 5 of its jurisdictions enacting local laws that end the sale of all flavored tobacco products. Scotts Valley unanimously adopted its flavored tobacco law on June 15 after working throughout the pandemic to build support for the policy change. Scotts Valley joins its neighbors Capitola (2019), Santa Cruz (2018), Watsonville (2019), and unincorporated Santa Cruz County (2019) in protecting residents throughout the Santa Cruz region by reducing the access to and availability of flavored tobacco products. |

The ANR Foundation is pleased to announce our most recent quarterly update to the lists and maps of U.S. municipalities and states with smokefree laws now in effect. Congratulations to Gwinnett County, Georgia, for a new smokefree Workplace, Restaurant, and Bar (WRB) ordinance that went into effect on June 23. Though this is the only new community on our WRB list this quarter, it shows the ripple effect from the success of smokefree Atlanta. |
