A coalition of public health and labor organizations is urging newly-elected Assemblywoman Maureen Rowan (D-2) to withdraw Assembly Bill A4899, a bill that would allow indoor smoking to continue unabated in Atlantic City’s casinos. Read the joint letter sent to the Assemblywoman’s office:

Bar staff are some of the only workers in San Francisco who are still having to breathe secondhand smoke on the job. Current status: The ordinance had a hearing on June 8 and it was delayed to continue building support.

On Tuesday, May 26, with a 6-3 vote, the Knoxville city council passed an ordinance to prohibit smoking inside 21+ venues, making Knoxville smokefree! Thank you to the coalition members of Smokefree Knoxville and Smokefree Tennessee.
