SMOKE IS STILL SMOKE

Any kind of smoke is dangerous.

Research on secondhand marijuana/cannabis smoke and vape/aerosol affirms that both are not healthy, and in fact are hazardous to nonsmokers’ health, much like secondhand tobacco smoke. As more research is conducted, science shows that marijuana/cannabis secondhand smoke is not safe. There is no safe amount of exposure. Only 100% smokefree and vape free environments are safe.

SMOKEFREE LAWS SHOULD INCLUDE MARIJUANA

ANR strongly encourages all cities and states to include marijuana and/or cannabis as a product that cannot be smoked or vaped in smokefree environments.

We continue to see our opponents attempt to manipulate and/or weaken very strong smokefree laws designed to increase the number of indoor spaces where people can use marijuana.

Communities should not adopt laws that promote marijuana business interests above the imperative to protect public health from exposure to hazardous secondhand smoke or vape/aerosol.
